Confidence In The Face of Challenges
Christopher Robin was onto something when he spoke these words to Winnie the Pooh:
“Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
I think that each of us should say those words every morning when we look in the mirror. Do you believe them?
We all face difficulties in life ... some people rise to the occasion while others wilt under the heat. Some people fight their way to the other side, while others shrink, quit, give up. How do YOU respond when things get tough and the challenges in life feel insurmountable?
Half the battle of maneuvering successfully through any of life's challenges is believing that we CAN. That we can make it. That we've got what it takes and that when we need it, strength will rise from within.
There are lots of practical things we can do in the face of life's obstacles and difficulties. I wrote in depth about this topic in a recent article How To Overcome Challenging Obstacles. But even if you were to follow my tips to the letter, you'd be hard-pressed to make it through without a belief that you can do it. That you will make it. That you're strong enough.
What do you believe about yourself?
If you're facing difficulties, remind yourself, every day, every hour if you have to, that you can make it. And as you make your way to the other side, you'll learn that you're braver than you believe. Your stronger than you seem. You're smarter than you think!
